  My stay was really good. the location was perfect - close to all the main sights on the Royal Mile and Princess Street. The room was small but comfortable and just what I needed.
  
  I did not use the eating facilities, but from what I saw it was excellent as well. The bar was good - and open late!

  The facility is good. Location is good. We booked family room, but it's bit small for family of 4 (2 small children). There is no separated kids play area and it's part of lobby. We didn't get parking on site but hotel gave us discount coupon to use at a public parking area which is cheaper. Breakfast was great.

  My wife and I recently spent 2 days in this hotel, the room was clean and had castle views. The pool and gym area was a good place to relax after a day walking around Edinburgh.
  The hotel is ideally situated only being a short walk from the Grassmarket, the Royal Mile and Princes Street.
  We would definitely use this hotel again!!

  Overall OK but there was a missed opportunity when my luggage missed my flight and I arrived without it. Knowing I had to quickly improvise, I consulted the front desk on where I could go for some basic hygiene essentials and some clothing/jackets. Your front desk person simply gave me a map, circled a broad area of Prince's street and wished me luck. So disappointing. Princes street is a large shopping area and, being new, I had no idea where to start except at the west side and trek east. An real concierge would have seen my plight and directed me to 2-3 stores for these items so I could make the most use of my time and give me confidence I could get it done.
  
  I am not new to losing my baggage for a night. A similar experience happened in Brussels a couple of years ago but the staff there were ready with a small hygiene kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc) and then after talking briefly with me.picked out the stores I should head to. This really impressed me and made me feel valued. Maybe it was a mistake to expect this level of service at Novotel.
