  I have enjoyed this bar for many years but probably won't return again after a strange incident with the delusional chef after I'd been served lamb moussaka for about £8 which was all moussaka with a splattering at the bottom of the dish of some mucky stuff which they were trying to pass off as lamb. Under Scottish Law, a customer has a perfect right to return the remains of a dish to the chef, and I am absolutely flabbergasted at the way the chef tried pouring the blame on me, and got his knickers in a complete twist when I did so. The chef should not be permitted to serve quasi-lamb moussaka ever again. There does seem to be a more general policy at the Regent and by the same congenial proprietors at the Nom to Plume to encourage their staff (e.g, laughing Maria) to dismiss valid customer complaints in quite demeaning ways. Maybe the chef was therefore simply reacting like another controlled robot, a puppet on a string

  I love the atmosphere of this pub .Still quite trad in a world of modernity.
  Friendly staff, good food reasonably priced.
  quite a jewel really!
  in my long gay life places like this are now a rarity
